For ART SG, this group presentation of Southeast Asian contemporary art, engages with issues from mythology to socio-political commentary embedded in them to direct engagement in one’s natural and social environment.
Inspired by Autumn Meditations by Chinese poet Du Fu, Ha Manh Thang (b. 1980) paints moments of transformation as seasons shift from one to another in his series of paintings titled, The Reflection. From this series of abstract paintings, Ha aims to redefine the way we contemplate landscapes both in works of art and in the real world, blurring the boundary between the exterior and the interior, the observed and the observer.
